Over the past month, some Russians have speculated that China will be the country’s mainstay in overcoming sanctions and a growing shortage of goods.
The reality turned out to be much more prosaic: the Chinese tech giant Huawei, which has fully felt the impact of sanctions in the last couple of years, decided not to risk the remaining business.
According to information from reliable source, the company has stopped accepting orders and is closing its corporate office in Russia, which deals with network equipment, base stations and telecoms. All Chinese and part of Russian employees will be relocated from Russia, the rest will go home.
At the same time, the consumer segment, which includes smartphones, laptops and other gadgets, is not touched yet, however, this issue is also under discussion.
