Microsoft Teams is a well-functioning video conferencing program that many have probably used for digital meetings and other things during the ongoing pandemic. In Windows 11 it is pre-installed. But you might think that it should not be necessary that it is always in the field of activity, where it takes up space.

What’s worse, it also starts automatically when you start Windows, which means it constantly takes up system resources. This can be troublesome, especially on a slightly weaker computer. Even if you like using Teams, you may want to start it yourself when needed.

If you do not want it at all, it can actually be removed. Almost in any case, because somehow it still remains if you would like to reactivate it.

We show you how to fix all these things. You can choose which actions you want to take and what you want left.

1. Customize

Removing the icon from the taskbar is the easiest. Go to Settings and select Adaptation. click The taskbar. Set the slider to Chat in position Of.

Teams

2. Start

To prevent the program from starting automatically, go to Settings and select Appar. click Apps and features. Scroll down to Microsoft Teams. Click on the three dots and select Advanced options. Set the slider to Running when logging in mode Of.

Teams

Uninstall

To remove the program, go to Apps and features as in step 2. Scroll down to Microsoft Teams. Click on the three dots and select Uninstall. After uninstallation, as I said, it is still somewhere in the background.

Teams

4. Reinstall

The latter makes it easy to get the program back. Just click on its icon in the taskbar, and it will be installed automatically when you select continue. If you have deactivated the icon according to step 1, just go back and set the slider to On again.
