MediaTek has unveiled the new Dimensity 1300 mobile chipset, which is rumored to debut in the OnePlus Nord 2T smartphone.

The new chipset is built on TSMC’s 6nm process and is equipped with an octa-core processor, which consists of four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores (one Ultra at up to 3 GHz and three Super at up to 2.6 GHz) and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores with frequency up to 2 GHz. The 9-core GPU Arm Mali-G77 MC9 is responsible for the graphics.

The Dimensity 1300 supports displays up to Full HD+ (2520×1080 pixels) at up to 168Hz, up to 16GB LPDDR4x 4266Mbps RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage.

The built-in image processor supports cameras up to 200MP and can shoot video in 4K HDR. In addition, a 5G modem is integrated into the chipset.

Overall, the new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chip offers performance on par with Qualcomm’s most powerful 7-series chip, the Snapdragon 778G.
