A new report from WABetaInfo notes that popular messaging platform WhatsApp is making changes to its media visibility. An update approaching its latest beta changes the way you save media from Disappearing Messages on your device.
WhatsApp for iOS now automatically disables Save to Camera Roll for disappearing messages. Previously, if users saved an item from their Disappearing Messages, any visual media would appear in their Photo Library. Visual media such as images, GIFs, videos are no longer automatically saved to your iPhone’s camera roll, even if general settings are turned on.
It’s important to note that users still have the option to manually save media. This update also helps provide better privacy for users as they will find their conversations more private in their disappearing chat threads.
Disappearing messages improved?
This update is rolling out to all iOS users. What are your general thoughts on this change? First of all, is this a much needed improvement for the platform?
