German carmakers Audi can continue to pursue their Formula One plans towards a possible entry in 2026, the supervisory board of parent company Volkswagen AG decided on Thursday. Volkswagen told dpa that Audi “have the opportunity in principle to enter the motor sport elite series in 2026” but that a final decision is yet to be made. Volkswagen said they are “in the final stage of their assessment” and added that yet to be published F1 rules from 2026 “have wide-ranging changes in favour of a more sustainable sport and are a condition for a potential Audi entry.” F1 is out to reach a compromise…
