IT House News on April 8, CCTV News quoted RIA Novosti news that Russia will launch the Luna-25 lunar probe on August 22 this year.

According to reports, the launch site of the mission is the Vostok Cosmodrome in the Russian Far East, which is also the first time Russia has launched a lunar probe in the past 46 years. The main task of this launch is to test the basic technology of soft landing in the vicinity of the polar regions of the moon, and to conduct communication research in the southern hemisphere of the moon.

IT House learned that the Soviet Union sent the last man-made device to the moon on August 9, 1976, the “Lunar-24” probe, which was used to study the moon, collect and transport lunar soil samples back to Earth. In 2013, China sent the Yutu lunar rover to the moon.

On March 9 last year, Rogozin, general manager of Roscosmos, and Zhang Kejian, director of China National Space Administration, signed the “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the Construction of an International Lunar Research Station”.

According to information previously announced by the China Space Administration, the construction of the lunar scientific research station is planned to start in 2026 and complete in 2035.
