Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron went into talks in Moscow on Monday aimed at resolving the conflict over Ukraine, with Putin paying tribute to Macron’s efforts on behalf of European security. France had for years worked towards a solution to the conflict in Ukraine, the Russian president said.
