Apple announced the Tap to Pay feature in February. The feature, which has been supported since iOS 15.4, allows businesses to use their iPhones to “seamlessly and securely” accept Apple Pay payments with a simple tap. Now, global financial technology platform Adyen has announced that it will offer Tap to Pay to its customers later this year.

According to the company, Adyen is working with enterprise clients and commercial platforms such as Lightspeed Commerce and NewStore to bring this feature to even more businesses. With the support of Adyen, NewStore is trying out a new feature with its customer Vince.

“Lightspeed is known for providing our merchants with the latest technology so they have the most efficient tools to run their business. Partnering with Adyen to bring Tap to Pay to iPhone is a huge win for our US customers,” said Yona Georgiou, general manager of payments and financial services at Lightspeed. “This feature gives merchants even more checkout options to deliver a superior customer experience.”

Tap to Pay on iPhone will allow Adyen customers to use the payment solution in a simple and secure way. Users need an iPhone XS or later to start accepting contactless payments with their iPhone.

Adyen is another major partner that will support Tap to Pay soon. When Apple introduced this feature, Shopify was its first announced partner.

Tap to Pay on iPhone will be available to payment platforms and app developers to integrate into their iOS apps and offers as a payment method for their business customers. Stripe will be the first payment platform to offer its business customers Tap to Pay on iPhone, including the Shopify Point of Sale app this spring. Additional payment platforms and apps will follow later this year.

Adyen has also created a dedicated page to help partners embrace this future in the near future, which you can read about here.
