Now Lancia confirms that they will present three new models before they become a pure electric car brand in 2028. The first we will get a taste of at the end of this year. It is certainly a concept that will then result in a completely new Ypsilon that will be launched in 2024. It will then be offered both as a charging hybrid and as an electric car. 2026 comes the next model and it will be the brand’s very first crossover. It will also revive the name Aurelia, which was used in the 50’s. In 2028, it’s time for a new Delta. The latter two models only come as electric cars. All new models will build on Lancia’s heritage and include retro elements on both the outside and inside.

Lancia has Mercedes as its benchmark
Aims for profitability instead of volume
We have previously told that the Italian car manufacturer Lancia will make a comeback. They have almost no choice because otherwise the big owner Stellantis will remove them. Now CEO Luca Napolitano announces that Lancia has Mercedes as its benchmark and that they will invest in profitability instead of pushing out as many cars as possible. The plan for the future is a new Ypsilon 2024, an electric crossover 2026 and an electric small car 2028. Luca is clear that Lancia will not compete with Mercedes but more how they will think strategically. The focus is on electrification and the first market is Europe, where you want to establish yourself in Germany and France.

GCK Exclusiv-e offers electric Lancia Delta
Maybe you can get before the official is here
A few weeks ago we wrote that Lancia Delta will make a comeback, but then with electric power. One company that is already doing this is GCK Exclusiv-e and what we see here is their electric Lancia Delta Evo-e. The ambassador for the car is the former rally driver Didier Auriol who we can see steering the cart in the clip below. This version is based on an original which is then renovated and gets lots of carbon fiber in the body. The chassis has been stiffened, the track width widened, the suspension lowered and larger brakes fitted. The petrol engine has been replaced with an electric motor that produces 200 horses and 350 newton meters in torque. This is connected to a battery pack of 29 kWh which will give a range of 200 km. The weight of the car lands at 1440 kilos, which makes it 100 kilos heavier than the original. 0-100 km / h should go in 6.6 seconds. The manual five-speed gearbox is left. However, there is a new four-wheel drive system and it sends 47 percent of the power to the front wheels and 53 percent to the rear wheels. The company will build 47 copies, but what these will cost is unclear, it will probably be a lot of money. A Martini version with an aluminum chassis, even more carbon fiber, sharper settings and lightweight chairs is also available, but only eleven will be built from this. When the first deliveries will take place is unclear right now.

Four new electric car platforms underway from Stellantis
The first model will be launched in 2024
Now we find out that Stellantis has no less than four new electric car platforms underway. Two of them will be adapted for small and medium-sized cars and they will be developed in Europe. The names will be STLA Small, Medium, Large and Frame. The latter two are for larger vehicles and probably for models that will be sold in the US – they like big cars there as you probably already know. STLA Medium will be the basis for models from DS, Lancia and Opel. This platform can accommodate battery packs of between 87 to 104 kWh and offer a range of up to 70 miles. The first model based on this to be launched is expected to be a crossover from DS and it will arrive in 2024.
