But you know, it’s early access that applies nowadays.
Funcom and Dune? A strange alliance, but as we could read at the beginning of the year, it is a reality. The next real-time strategy game in Dune environment in 21 years (Emperor: Battle for Dune) is Norwegian-released (spice, oil?), and French-developed (merde!), and now we have a release date. At least for the early access version of the game. April 26 is what applies for Dune: Spice Warsbut no sharp release date has been announced.
Northgardstudio Shiro Games is working full time on this game which has some elements of 4x gameplay, but where everything in some strange way happens in real time. You can read more about the plot here, but it is clear that you get inspiration from both Frank Herbert’s novel as well as Villenueve’s film. And everything can be played out from five different perspectives. Four are now announced, as we have been told that Fremen will be playable. We already know that Harkonnen, Atreides and Smugglers can be chosen.
Check out the trailer from the game below.
