Yesterday was a big day for baseball fans and Nintendo Switch owners. Indeed, MLB The Show 22 is available on Nintendo’s hybrid console. It is an event because it is the first time that the MLB The Show license has landed on a Nintendo console. On this occasion, Nintendo World Report TV offers a comparative video between the Playstation 5 version and the Nintendo Switch version. And the result will surprise more than one…

In view of the title one can wonder the interest of comparing a Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch version. So yes, in terms of finishes, the Nintendo Switch version is much lower than the PS5 version, indeed the aliasing is very present. However, running a game like MLB The Show meant making sacrifices. Another detail that changes between the two versions is the camera. The distances are not the same and even seem shorter on the Switch version. The angle also changes. For example the barriers at the edge of the field are not in the field of the Nintendo Switch camera.

On the framerate side, since the video addresses this point, it’s rather a good surprise, the Nintendo Switch version is defending itself rather well. Where the PS5 version displays an almost constant 60FPS, the Switch version oscillates between a small 20 FPS during certain animations and a good 50 FPS during game phases. Yes, yes 50 FPS, which allows it to have a rendering and gameplay that seems rather comfortable and not disabling once in play.

In short, I let you judge for yourself.
