the Flying Dragon Greyll in Elden Ring is a boss in the wild.

You can meet the Flying Lizard in Caelid, where it roams the bridge south of Beast Sanctum. He marches across the bridge all day long, waiting for poor souls who dare to cross it.

Here is the location on the map:

Greyll is practically a (much stronger) reskin from Agheel and is very reminiscent of the other dragons in Elden Ring: Emerald, Adula, Ekzykes or Borealis.

If you’ve already done one of these, Greyll shouldn’t step out of line. The problem with this fight is the space conditions.

As is so often the case, the Dragon Wings are a good target.

The bridge isn’t exactly very wide and we don’t have much of a chance to dodge to the side, especially when Greyll uses his Flame Breath to set the ground on fire.

If you’re strong enough, it can be worth staying between his legs and dealing sustained damage there. Target the wings and feet and smack them until they crack.

Unfortunately, the bridge doesn’t offer much space for combat.

After dealing enough damage, you’ll even break Greyll’s stance with it. If he bangs his head on the ground, he lands a critical hit and move on.

If it takes off fluttering in the air, it will at best only stomp once where you are standing. Dodge this attack.

However, you can lure Greyll a bit north and fight him there.

At worst, he spits fire. You avoid this with the horse by dashing in one direction, possibly even under him. Just get yourself to safety.

The bridge is too narrow to have enough space on the sides to avoid the flames. If necessary, pour a healing potion and continue.

Luckily, you can lure Greyll a little north of the bridge and fight him where there’s more room (right next to the “Great Bridge of Farum” place of mercy).

As with the other dragons, Greyll will kick you if you spread under him for too long and swing his tail if you’re behind him. Jumping attacks to the head are also a tried and tested means against the dragon.
