By Daniel Bates After long runs at Penn and Temple, Fran Dunphy has reportedly agreed to become the next head basketball coach of La Salle’s men’s program. Dunphy replaces Ashley Howard, who was recently fired after four straight losing seasons. In his 30 seasons on the sideline between Penn and Temple, Dunphy has posted 24 winning seasons; including 17 NCAA Tournament appearances. The 73-year-old will be tasked with lifting his alma mater out of a seven-season rut that hasn’t seen the Explorers finish above .500 since 2014-2015.
