Just a few months after the release of Solar Ash, developer Heart Machine is already announcing its next title: a sequel to the popular pixel art action RPG Hyper Light Drifter – Hyper Light Breaker. Unlike its predecessor, Hyper Light Breaker is a 3D third-person action game in rogue-lite format. The speed and colors of the predecessor should remain the same, only the pixels have been replaced by polygons. However, Hyper Light Breaker is not intended to be just a sequel or prequel, it is set in the same world as its predecessor and is intended to share guides and some aesthetics with it, but it is intended to have its own story.

The game world of Hyper Light Breaker

Hyper Light Breaker is set in “Overgrowth”, a “vast, constantly changing world with massive biomes and deep mazes.” Of course, as a rogue-lite, this means that the entire environment is randomly generated. However, there is a settlement that serves as a hub and grows as you progress through the game.

The combat system here aims to reflect Solar Ash’s speed and fluidity of movement, while also placing a focus on a gear system similar to many other RPGs. A large arsenal of weapons and items is also on the developer’s list.

Drifting in co-op mode

In addition, players always have a hoverboard and a glider in their possession to move quickly and smoothly through the world. On Steam, a co-op mode is also promised in addition to the single player.
