Google has released a major update to the Google Maps app for iOS, adding several new features to improve navigation on iPhone and Apple Watch.
Google Maps will now display traffic lights and stop signs along your route, as well as additional location information such as outlines of buildings and points of interest. In some cities, the company will also provide information on the number of lanes.
In addition, Maps will begin showing the estimated cost of tolls on toll sections of the road before launching the navigator.
The new Apple Watch app interface lets you get directions in Google Maps right from your watch. The company also promises to add the ability to launch navigation from the watch without having to connect to an iPhone.
Other improvements include a new pinned trips widget and an updated Google Maps search widget.
