One of Ubisoft’s most successful series is Rainbow Six – also thanks to the evergreen Rainbow Six: Siege. Now the tactical shooter is also coming to mobile platforms and should cause a sensation there.
Ubisoft today announced Rainbow Six Mobile, a new installment in the franchise dedicated to mobile platforms. The title is to be released for iOS and Android in the course of 2022 and will start in the free-to-play model – i.e. free of charge.
Rainbow Six Mobile will also stay true to its roots as a tactical first-person shooter on smartphones. The good piece is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, which has chosen a 5v5 PvP gameplay for the title. The main game mode will be Attack vs. Defense. Attackers can use surveillance drones and gather intel to breach walls and conquer expansive corridors.
The defending team must barricade all access points on a map as well as possible, use cameras for surveillance and place traps to make it as difficult as possible for the attackers.
To start a match, players will assemble a fully customizable team of Operators drawn from the Rainbow Six universe and familiar to veterans. All will have a unique skill set, weapons, and gadgets.
Even cards from Rainbow Six: Siege are said to be making their way into the mobile version, including Bank and Border. And: PvP game modes such as Secure Area and Bomb are also planned.
