Xiaomi should take advantage of this summer to unveil its new folding smartphone, the Mi Mix 2. A smartphone that is known in MIUI under the code name L18 Zizhan with the reference 22061218C.
According to the MIUI source code, the device would be presented in June 2022 in China, then in the coming weeks in France.
But the code of MIUI also gives interesting information on the screen of the device which would be able to bend on both sides. We could thus bend it 360 degrees and fold it inwards as well as outwards.
Xiaomi has been working on the subject for a few years since a first U1 smartphone ever released already offered this feature in 2018. The limits were mainly software: Android was not able to manage the adaptation of the interface with each folding.
The multiplication of smartphones with foldable screens being done, Android 12L has adapted and offers better management of these changes in shape.
According to previous rumors, the Mi Mix Fold 2 would be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC, it would benefit from an 8-inch 2K screen and a 6.5-inch external screen in 120 and 60 Hz. should also offer a 108 MP camera.
