The final training session for the men’s downhill alpine ski event has been cancelled over safety concerns, Beijing Winter Olympics officials announced Saturday. “With high winds on the course and no window in the forecast for improved conditions, the jury and the event organiser have decided to call off the session over safety concerns,” organizers said in a statement. Three skiers were able to complete the course, on Xiaohaituo Mountain in Yanqing, before the session was called off. The men’s downhill final is scheduled to start at 0300 GMT on Sunday.
