Women remain vastly under-represented in leadership positions in New Jersey local government. Women make up more than half of the state’s population but occupy less than a third of local government, according to a recent analysis from Rutgers Eagleton Institute of Politics Center for American Women in Politics that looked at the political landscape following the November elections.
