The time has come, as the next-gen native versions of Apex Legends go live today. Respawn Entertainment has even more new content in store for you.

Apex on the PS5 and Xbox Series? That’s how it’s done

On March 29, 2022 – meaning today – players with a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series can enjoy the battle royale in next-gen quality. That gives away blog post by Publisher Electronic Arts.

4K, 60hz, HDR, higher-resolution shadows and larger LOD distances are part of the experience. Support for the DualSense controller features, audio improvements and 120hz gameplay are a little late and will come with a later update.

If you have a PS5, you can switch versions by pressing the “Option” button next to “Play” and looking for the “Version” tab. Here you can download the new version and delete the old PS4 version. If you do not yet own Apex Legends, you will be given the choice of which version you want to download before the installation entrance.

On the Xbox, it’s less complicated. Here the Smart Delivery feature is your best friend. This ensures that the best version of your title is loaded automatically – no matter what console generation you own. So you can sit back and don’t have to do anything.

What content is still waiting for you

Additionally, Control Mode is coming back through March 12th. The 9v9 mode is under Caustic’s star and features a new three-point battlefield with additional covers, zip lines, skydive slingshots and hover tanks.

You play for control in this Apex Legends map.

For the Arena comes the new map “Drop-Off”, which towers over the skyline of Malta. Here you are at night in the outer and inner areas of the map.

The new collection event allows you to bag up to 24 limited-time cosmetics in both the old and new content. A new legendary skin is even included. You can earn up to 1,600 points per day and you will receive new challenges every day and also help you in the Battle Pass. You can also get a few new items in the shop.
