FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Germany imported 8.2% less natural gas in January than in the same 2021 month amid tight global supply but its bill rose 217% as prices surged, official data from trade statistics office BAFA showed on Tuesday. BAFA releases import data with a two-month delay so the impact Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February and efforts by European governments to sanction Moscow for its actions is not reflected.
