President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau (NDPB), a new federal agency. Prof Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, had requested that the approval be granted. In accordance with worldwide best practice, the NDPB will focus on data protection and privacy for the country, among other things.
