President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday appointed Ali Sabry as the country’s new Finance Minister as his Cabinet resigned en masse on Sunday night. Sabry who held the post of Justice Minister was named in place of Basil Rajapaksa. Also reappointed to the cabinet were Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena as Education Minister and Chief Government Whip Johnston Ferando as Minister of Highways. G.L. Peiris was reappointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
