By Andrew Gould Providence’s Ed Cooley was named the 2022 Naismith Men’s College Coach Of The Year Award on Sunday morning. In his 11th season with the program, Cooley led the Friars to their first regular-season Big East title. They earned the most conference wins (14) in school history and reached the Sweet 16 as a No. 4, Providence’s highest seeding. Cooley, who also received Big East Coach of the Year honors, became Providence’s first coach to garner the Naismith award.
