Valve recently released the Steam March 2022 hardware survey, and two things are worth noting.
The first is that the CPU usage of players has changed significantly. For the first time, the 6-core CPU surpassed the 4-core peak, and the latter entered history.
The second is that NVIDIA’s RTX 2060 graphics card has come to the third place in desktop graphics cards, surpassing the GTX 1050 Ti that has been in the forefront before, a big step forward, but there is still a big gap from the 8.18% share of the first-place GTX 1060.
In terms of systems, Windows 10 64-bit is still dominant, accounting for 77.34%, but it lost 1.2% of the share. The second-ranked Windows 11 64-bit accounted for 17.44%, an increase of 1.26%.
In the March hardware survey, you can see that Intel gained 0.26%, while AMD lost 0.26% of its share.
The media believes that with the introduction of Intel’s 12th-generation Alder Lake CPUs, the entire map of user CPUs has changed. Coupled with Intel’s reduction in CPU and motherboard prices, many gamers have returned to Intel’s embrace. While AMD has launched the new Ryzen 55600, 5500 and other products to fight, the main competition now is targeting AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors, and Intel will also respond with 13th Gen Raptor Lake.
