Recharging your electric car during the races, the idea makes perfect sense: you might as well take advantage of the time spent on the shelves to top up your battery. And like service stations, it also attracts customers…

This is one of the main headaches for owners of electric cars: recharging their vehicle! The network of stations lacks density and it is often necessary to adapt a route depending on the presence on the route of superchargers. Not to mention that some of them lack power, which further lengthens the charging time.

Squaring France

To support the development of the electric car, it is therefore necessary to multiply the charging stations. The Carrefour group has announced that 400 of its Carrefour Market stores in France will have charging points by 2025. This represents a total of 3,000 charging points, enough to strengthen the French network.

Added to this are the existing stations, the brand having already announced the establishment of 2,000 charging points by 2023. Eventually, more than 700 stations and 5,000 equipped spaces will be available in the car parks of the Carrefour stores (franchisees are also invited to participate in the program). These stations will be supplied with 100% green energy, half of which will benefit from the high power supplied by Enedis.

On average, each hypermarket will have ten electrified places, supermarkets five places. The first Carrefour Énergies charging station will be available on April 8 at the Troyes – La Chapelle Saint-Luc hypermarket. You can connect to it using the dedicated mobile application.

Three offers will be offered at these stations: a free service for bicycles and electric scooters; a so-called “comfort” service at 22 kW, free for the first hour for customers with a loyalty card or the PASS Carrefour card; fast to ultra-fast service (50 to 300 kW) to fill up between 20 and 60 minutes.
