No. 1 seed South Carolina beat No. 2 seed UConn with ease on Sunday night to win the national championship. The final score was 64-49. A year ago, Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks fell one point short of beating Stanford in the Final Four. Staley’s players clearly kept that loss fresh on their minds.
