Orange is due to present a new Livebox this week and has unveiled a first enigmatic visual as part of an invitation sent to the press. A priori, this renewal would only concern the modem-router and only in optical fiber.
On Twitter, Tiino-X83 – already known for some great finds on the Free side – publishes additional shots of the Livebox 6. A leak that allows you to preview the design of the new box ofOrangebut without the details of its technical characteristics.
Predicting the presence of a loudspeaker to accompany a voice assistant, the fabric part is less “spectacular” than in the visual of Orange.
The height positioning of the Livebox 6 should in any case also promote better wave propagation with the placement of the antennas. As such, the Livebox 6 should join the most recent boxes of Bouygues Telecom and SFR by being Wi-Fi 6 or even Wi-Fi 6E compatible.
Connection confirmations
If not for its location under the orange line (an orange light), the leak does not allow to fully appreciate what would be an e-Ink screen, nor the button of the Orange visual with its moon-shaped logo which would be used with a view to saving energy or putting it to sleep at night.
On the other hand, it confirms the connection with four RJ45 ports (Ethernet 1 Gbps) joined in the same row, a separate RJ45 port (orange color) which should be at 2.5 Gbps, 2 RJ11 ports for using the telephone by internet , a USB port (3.x) and a fiber socket (in green) for connection to the Fiber wall socket.
Not to mention the power supply, the Reset button to reconfigure the Livebox while keeping the settings (above the RJ11 ports), the service button to test the operation of the Livebox and the circular button to turn the Livebox on or off.
As for the Livebox 5, the eco-design of the Livebox 6 will undoubtedly be put forward. Remember also that the Livebox 5 is with a downlink speed of up to 2 Gbps shared, which should therefore evolve with the Livebox 6.
