IT House April 4 news, German publication Igor’s Lab reported a potential anomaly in AMD’s Adrenalin GPU software,The software changes CPU settings without the user’s knowledge.
Current speculation is that AMD’s Ryzen Master module is integrated into the Adrenalin 22.3.1 or later software, inadvertently allowing programs to manipulate CPU PBO and Precision Boost settings without the user’s permission.
According to user feedback, this issue only occurs in AMD CPU and graphics card combination, also known as the “3A” platform, only this hardware combination supports the Ryzen Master SDK. The use of Intel CPU + AMD graphics or AMD CPU + Intel graphics is not affected.
IT House has learned that reports say that for some reason AMD’s Adrenalin software will fail when applying GPU profiles.Automatically enable PBO or “CPU OC” settingand use any settings to overwrite the user’s original settings, which may affect the stability of the CPU.
There are several ways to restore the CPU to its original configuration. The first method is to go into the motherboard’s BIOS and re-enter all CPU settings (disable the PBO if running the defaults).
The second method is to run the Radeon Software Slimmer, which removes the Ryzen Master SDK from the Adrenalin software, preventing the module from adjusting the CPU settings.
The third method is simpler, creating a new tuning profile for the GPU in the Adrenalin software can completely prevent the module from manipulating the PBO settings in the motherboard BIOS.
