There were curious scenes on the opening day of the women’s ice hockey tournament at the Beijing Winter Olympics when the United States and Finland had to return to the rink to replay the end of their group game after the final buzzer. The referee missed a legitimate goal from Finland with 2 minutes 20 seconds remaining on the clock and the error was only recognized after a video review.
