IT House reported on April 3 that BYD announced on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that the production of new energy vehicles in March was 106,658 units, a year-on-year increase of 416.96%; the sales volume was 104,878 units, a year-on-year increase of 422.97%.

It is reported that BYD produced 54,684 pure electric passenger vehicles this month, a year-on-year increase of 266.20%; while this month’s sales were 53,664 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 271.05%. BYD’s plug-in hybrid models produced 51,434 units this month, an increase of 853.37% year-on-year, and sold 50,674 units, an increase of 857.40% year-on-year.

IT House learned that BYD’s total installed capacity of new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage batteries in March 2022 is about 5.353 GWh, and the total installed capacity in 2022 is about 14.738 GWh.

BYD also stated that according to the company’s strategic development needs, it has stopped the production of fuel vehicles from March 2022. In the future, in the automotive sector, the company will focus on pure electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
