Hidden in Intel’s Arc presentation was a second, “secret” video in which the developers thanked the community. In order to get to the video, several symbols from the presentation had to be put together and converted into an IP address.

This week Intel finally released more details about the Arc graphics cards and even showed first renderings of a desktop graphics card. In the approximately 20-minute live stream for the Arc GPUs, there were not only technical details and announcements, but also hidden references to another video. These should be aimed in particular at enthusiasts who, for example, took part in Intel’s Arc scavenger hunt at the beginning of the year.

Puzzle leads to IP address

If you paid close attention to the video, you could see hidden, mostly star-shaped symbols in a total of four places. As Intel has now announced, these led to an IP address. Each of the four groups of symbols represented a number separated by a period, with the individual digits represented by the number of corners per shape. Whoever put it all together correctly came up with the IP 35.84.150.230. This, in turn, redirected users to Intel’s website.

A YouTube video that is not publicly listed is displayed there as a reward for resourceful users. This is a two-minute thank-you, in which numerous Intel employees who were involved in the development of the Arc GPU thank the community.

However, there were no tangible advantages such as prices or a discount campaign for resourceful users. Appropriate actions should not be long in coming. Because in order to gain a foothold in the graphics market, Intel will have to generate a lot of attention, and competitions and scavenger hunts are popular means of doing so.
