Time passes strangely for me: for a few days our dishwasher has been making noises, as if dreaming of accelerating on a runway and soon taking off, heading east, far east, to Asia, possibly to Japan, but of course no longer above Russia, but “down below”, i.e. via Turkey, Iraq and so on. Or also “around the top”, whereby it, i.e. the dishwasher, if it were an airplane, in this case it would have to use the old polar route, 200km past the North Pole, in order to avoid the largest surface country on earth, because the now has just decided to grab even more space.
Of course, our dishwasher isn’t actually an airplane, but it’s one step ahead of an airplane: it now sounds like an airplane even when you’ve switched it off, whereas airplanes don’t usually sound like airplanes when they’re not switched on. In general, I don’t like it when electrical devices keep making noises when they should be off.
What I really wanted to do, however, is to explain my sense of time. So I was firmly convinced that we should still be within the warranty period when it came to dishwashers. Finally, I still had a clear memory of the day she moved into our kitchen. Especially since it didn’t quite fit and since then we can see the metal paneling of the dishwasher below and no longer the wooden paneling of the fitted kitchen, the corresponding board had to be removed. But my wife said it can’t be, we definitely got the machine “before Corona”, and in fact some time before that, and Corona started more than two years ago, and that’s why the dishwasher can no longer work be in warranty. That sounded plausible, but I didn’t want to be so easy…
