The fixer site Ifixit has now disassembled Apple’s latest Ipad Air 5 and discovered that it is actually somewhat easier to replace the battery in the tablet.
The battery cell must be held in place by a tab that can be easily pulled away. Previous Ipad Air models have usually glued the entire battery, which has made it much more difficult to replace. However, the battery on the iPad Air 5 should still be glued to the top and bottom.
The new method may make it a little easier for third-party vendors and individuals to replace the battery themselves. In the end, though, Ifixit gives the Ipad Air 5 only 3 out of 10 in repair ratings.
