It is the second largest hydropower station in the world after the Three Gorges Project. The first batch of units of the power station will be put into operation in June 2021, and all units are planned to be put into operation in July 2022. After being put into operation, it can save about 19.68 million tons of standard coal every year, and reduce the emission of 51.6 million tons of carbon dioxide and 170,000 tons of sulfur dioxide.
