Jixin Tunnel is located in Ganluo County and Yuexi County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with a total length of about 17.6 kilometers. It is the second longest tunnel in the capacity expansion and reconstruction project of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway. The tunnel is located in the eastern part of the Hengduan Mountains and the transition zone from the Sichuan Basin to the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

There are 17 sets of strata in the mountain body that Jixin Tunnel passes through, and there are 3 fault zones in the area. Among them, the section passing through dolomite is nearly 11 kilometers long.
