By Alex Lang New York (Knewz) — Most Americans say they want the government to strengthen the country’s rail network, according to a new survey. A recent poll by the Rail Passengers Association found that 78 percent said having a strong rail system is “important” for the U.S. Roughly 66 percent of people said they support adding more routes to the current rail network. For passengers, the most common rail network is Amtrak, which has lines that run from coast-to-coast. In fiscal year 2021, Amtrak provided more than 12 million trips, according to the rail service.
