Remember, in the last episode, BattleState Games had released a new map for Escape From Tarkov, Lighthouse, but amputated a few areas. During a stream on their Twitch channel earlier in the evening, the developers detailed the future expansion as well as new mechanics. To start, we will soon be able to access the lighthouse – provided you have the right object, and meet a merchant there, only available on the map. We will also have the right to visit the sewage treatment plant and new bosses are planned. On the technical side, DLSS should arrive within a week or two, which will significantly increase FPS for owners of Nvidia RTX cards, as you can see – among others – in the video below. For the others, the AMD FSR is also planned, but in the longer term.

Small novelty in the gameplay, we will now have the possibility of launching a flare, allowing to have a drop of material on its position. Nothing better to get ripped off by the whole map… Nikita, the game director from the studio, also talked about the new daily quests and a repair kit for weapons and armor. On the other hand, the crafting system in the hideout is changing a bit, and finally gives the tools (screwdriver, pliers, etc.) back to the player, rather than consuming them when making something.

Finally, Battlestate Games mentioned several topics they were actively working on: the arena mode which will focus on pvp fights, the next Steet of Tarkov map, as well as anti-cheat.

As usual, no date has been announced for the patch. If you want more details and you are not allergic to English spoken with a Russian accent, you can watch the replay of the stream on their Twitch channel.
