I saw that a “good person” in the QQ group sent a red envelope, and it was robbed as soon as I clicked into the group chat! In fact, the hand speed that many people can’t understand is the “super power” brought by the software. The QQ red envelope plugin is also familiar and accepted by many netizens.
On April 1, according to The Paper, the Hangzhou Intermediate Court recently concluded an unfair competition case involving QQ’s “automatic red envelope grabbing” software. The defendants Baihao Company and Guxin Company were ordered to stop the infringement, publish the newspaper to eliminate the impact, and compensate Tencent Company for economic losses (including reasonable expenses) of 700,000 yuan.
Baihao Company and Guxin Company develop and operate two softwares, “Duoduo Red Envelope” and “Red Envelope Hunter”, which can automatically grab red envelopes when displayed on the front end of QQ or in the background when QQ message notification is turned on, and also provide “Allow message notification, black screen” The “Red Packet Grabbing Tutorial” of “Unlocking the Screen without Grabbing and Preventing Restricted Grab Techniques”.
Users are reminded to use the red-envelope grabbing software intermittently to enable random delays for grabbing red-envelopes, random thank yous, etc., to simulate real people grabbing red-envelopes and reduce the chance of limited grabs.
Tencent believes that the acts of the two companies to download, publicize, and operate the above software constitute unfair competition, and appeals to stop the infringement, eliminate the impact, and compensate 4.8 million yuan for losses and 150,000 yuan for reasonable expenses.
The Hangzhou Railway Transportation Court held that Baihao Company and Guxin Company made profits by providing services that harmed Tencent Company, consumers and the public interests, which constituted unfair competition.
Baihao Company compensated Tencent Company for losses (including reasonable expenses) of 700,000 yuan, of which 100,000 yuan was jointly borne by Guxin Company.
