Augsburg have signed defender Maximilian Bauer on a free transfer from Bundesliga rivals Greuther Fürth, both clubs said Wednesday. Germany under-21 international centre back Bauer will move when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign on a deal to 2027. Fürth are bottom of the table on 10 points, nine adrift of Augsburg in the relegation play-off position.
