A grand jury has indicted a police officer on charges that he tried to strangle a woman during an off-duty domestic violence incident last year. Myron V. Ford, 37, who has been with the Deptford Township Police Department since 2009, was arrested by Deptford police at his apartment on Sept. 30. He is accused of “forcefully shoving” the woman against a door inside the apartment, scratching her right arm and chin, and “placing his hands around the victim’s neck in attempt to strangle the victim,” according to his criminal complaint.
