Puzzle platformer wins the German Computer Game Award 2022

White Shadows wins the German Computer Game Award 2022. The cinematic puzzle platformer receives the Young Talent Award for “Best Debut”.

At the celebratory gala of the German Computer Game Award 2022 last evening, White Shadows won the young talent award “Best Debut”.

The dystopian title is known above all for its unmistakable style; the colorless and dark world immediately catches the eye. Peppered with social criticism and disturbing scenes, White Shadows not only captivates the players, but also makes them think.

“White Shadows throws us into a gloomy world whose dense, oppressive atmosphere pulls us in.” That is how the jury described it. “Thanks to the successful staging and many lovingly placed details that tell a story about oppression, discrimination and violence using environmental storytelling, the gameplay never gets boring, even in quieter moments. In the course of the game, additional puzzles and mechanics provide variety, and classical pieces of music used in only a few places set exciting accents. White Shadows is an audiovisual work of art with a strong message.”
