The official sequel to Wii Sports (Yes !) named Nintendo Switch Sports, making headlines recently for its technique and the potential integration of a very special technology, once again illustrated itself today via a trailer of no less than six minutes. If no new sport has been announced, however, we have the opportunity today to discover a little more about the six activities that will be offered when the game is released.
Tennis, bowling, chanbara, football, badminton and volleyball therefore see their gameplay somewhat detailed. We also learn that the hub of Nintendo Switch Sports named Spocco Square. As for multiplayer modes, the game will feature local and online multiplayer for all activities; note that the subscription Nintendo Switch Online will obviously be mandatory for the second solution.
A few details about the online mode and a little apprehension
This so-called online mode will offer a system of leagues as some well-known games already do like Rocket League or Dauntless, to recite nobody else but them. By dint of playing and winning, you will climb from league E to league A, passing through E+, D-, D, D+, etc. (there are a total of 12 different leagues) and no doubt the matchmaking will be according to your level. And because it’s almost essential these days, it will be possible to customize your character (called sportsmate) in Nintendo Switch Sports, choosing the face, hair and outfit. Equipment can be unlocked by playing online via a points system that you accumulate. It is interesting to note that big-N thinks of nostalgia and will allow, as on the indestructible Wii Sportsto embody his own mii.
The only downside, however, and not the least, the trailer indicates that the online game will be against randomly selected players. Let’s hope that nintendo also think of those who want to play with friends and will avoid repeating the same mistakes that we have experienced too much on some of their previous games.
As a reminder, Nintendo Switch Sports take it out April 29, 2022 exclusively on nintendo-switch and will offer six different activities. A seventh, golf, will be added in the fall via a free update.
