Disney announced yesterday that it will postpone the premiere of its next Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The first episode of the series was originally scheduled to air on Disney + Wednesday, May 25, the same date the first Star Wars movie premiered in the United States in 1977. However, in a video message, the series ‘lead actor Evan McGregor states that the series’ premiere will now be moved to Friday, May 27. Then Disney + will instead broadcast the first two episodes Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Disney has not stated why it has chosen to move Obi-Wan Kenobi premiere date. However, it all means that the series will premiere on the same date that Netflix begins broadcasting the fourth season of Stranger Things. However, it is unclear whether this has anything to do with the matter.

Disney will make Obi-Wan Kenobi series
With Ewan McGregor
Last week, there were rumors that Ewan McGregor would reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new TV series that revolves around the life of the Jedi master. Now Disney has officially announced that this series will be released during their D23 Expo event away in the US. This Obi-Wan Kenobi series will of course be broadcast on Disney + and the recordings will start next year. The plot will revolve around Obi-Wan Kenobi eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith. We will follow Kenobi’s life in exile on Tatooine where he keeps an eye on a small child named Luke.

This is the cast for the miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi
Starts recording in April
Disney is now telling a little more about the upcoming miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi, directed by Deborah Chow. We already knew that Ewan McGregor will be there and that Hayden Christensen will play Darth Vader. We also recognize Joel Edgerton who played Owen Lars. It fits perfectly as the miniseries begins to take place ten years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith which was released in 2005, so aging becomes almost naturally correct. Now you release the rest of the playlist and you seem to like having comedians, Bill Burr was in The Mandalorian and now Kumail Nanjiani is in it. The recordings start in April, but when it will premiere is still a bit unclear. The premiere will be at Disney +, that’s for sure.
