Mercedes-Benz announced its intention to halve its emissions of carbon dioxide per passenger car by the end of the decade during a conference on sustainability in Stuttgart on Monday. “The company’s goal is to at least halve CO2 emissions per passenger car over the entire life cycle by the end of this decade compared with 2020,” CEO Ola Källenius said, adding that the transition to electric cars, improved battery technology and the use of recycled materials were important elements of the strategy.
