With “Techtonica” Fire Hose Games is working on a new factory building game for Steam. Steeped in the sci-fi genre, it takes players beneath the surface of a strange alien planet. Filled with bioluminescent flora, players explore these caves from a first-person perspective.
In “Techtonica” players start with the simplest basic techniques to mine minerals and produce important resources. A little later you construct more complicated machines that relieve you of the tedious work of gathering resources and production in order to penetrate deeper into the planet. To do this, players must develop new tools and master the management of energy and materials.
Techtonica: The goal is to automate factories
In order to advance the automation of work processes, players gradually build a complex network of interacting machines, conveyor belts and elevators. Mining and manufacturing gain momentum as you build sprawling factories and your own base of operations. But of course players have to open up sufficiently large caves beforehand.
Possible Steam Hit: What is IXION about?
Exploring the subterranean cave systems offers opportunities: Huge deposits of raw materials lie hidden here, but other rewards or ancient artefacts also await in remote caves. By exploring the cave world, you unlock new building instructions for improved automation systems and more powerful technology. Techtonica can be played alone or with up to four players in co-op mode. An exact release date for the game has not yet been announced. Interested players should therefore put the title on their Steam wish list.
