By Richard Horgan Los Angeles (Knewz) — The “sandwich generation” demographic consists of American adults who have one or more parents age 65 and older and are raising at least one child under the age of 18 or providing financial support for one or more young adult progeny. According to a recent Pew Research sampling, this side of the bread is buttered for 23 percent of Americans. The concentration of sandwich folks is highest in the 40s age group (54 percent), followed by people in their 50s (36 percent) and people in their 30s (27 percent).
