Following strong pressure from competition authorities around the world, Apple recently decided to ease the rules of the App Store.
Thus, it is now possible to link to websites for external subscriptions regarding a wide range of services.
According to 9to5Mac Apple will add new dialogs to iOS 15.5 which, among other things, make it clear that deleting apps does not automatically end external subscriptions, something that not all users may be aware of.
The new regulations concern so-called reading apps, which include books, newspapers, magazines, music and video. However, external links for gaming services are still not allowed, which means that criticism of Apple is likely to persist.
