The Seal Prison of the Apprentice Lord in Elden Ring is a location on the mountain top of the giants (east side).
You will discover the location northeast of the Guardian Garrison, south of the Ghostcaller’s Cave and northwest of the First Church of Marika.
Here is the location on the map:
As always, the Seal Prison only serves as a vessel for a boss locked inside. Click on the seal and you will find yourself in the boss fight.
Boss: Knight Vyke of the Round Table
We already know Vyke as an NPC invader near the Church of Inhibition. This form here is now much stronger and more aggressive, which is why the fight is also a lot harder.
His worst attack is jumping and spearing the ground. Dodges this at the last moment diagonally to the side and counters. If you are quick enough, you can even backstab.
Red lightning flashes around his weapon and body, meaning he’ll deal appropriate spear damage even if you block the attack with a shield. Which you shouldn’t necessarily do, at least not if you’re able to dodge it.
Hovering a meter off the ground and summoning lightning bolts in both hands will get you to safety. It doesn’t matter where and in which direction, but run away so as not to get caught in the thunderstorm. Then he storms towards you and you can ambush him with an attack.
That’s generally the good thing about this fight: Vyke can be interrupted in all his animations if you hit the spot at the right time with a punch (or better: a whole sequence of punches). Hit him in the head with the Jump Attack if you get the timing right.
When he stretches his left arm towards the sky, he conjures up lightning bolts that hit the ground in several places one after the other. Sprint sideways and you should be able to avoid them.
Since Vyke is an NPC, this also means that he will heal once his HP drops below half (but only once in total, so don’t panic).
By and large, that was it with his fighting demeanor. The spear stabs he uses the most are relatively easy to dodge. He doesn’t have many other attacks in close combat.
Beware of the jump attack and if necessary run away from it to get to know its animations better. But like I said, there’s not that much remarkable about Vyke.
You should be able to bring him to his knees fairly quickly.
- reward: 75,000 Runes, Invocation “Vyke’s Dragonbolt”, Fingerprint Armor, Fingerprint Helm, Fingerprint Gauntlets, Fingerprint Legguards
