ESPN’s Jeff Passan was first to report that deGrom will miss Opening Day for the Mets. It was announced earlier today that he’d undergo an MRI on his throwing shoulder. A timetable for deGrom’s return isn’t available at this time. However, Passan did say that deGrom is expected to miss a significant amount of time to start the 2022 season.
